Humility Check/ Home Alone 5

Had some time to myself this weekend, just me and the kats. i can relate to these kats becauze i live nine lives just like them, except that i live all 9 simultaneously, and they live them consecutively, one by one. actually if you consider all the lives i've lived, i suppose its 81 lives, 9 lives simultaneously, 9 consecutive times.

Digital practiced her house tours on me for a minute.. she's getting pretty pro with it, and evens rhymes her lines sometimes when she lets it.

I call this one Pele's Revenge:)

If were all alone in the Denim Zoo, your telling me you woudn't try to feed the animals?

This is what history looks like when it's happening in the present!

This is what fried chicken Parmesan looks like when its born. disclaimer- no chicken was wasted in the making of this meal.

Meat sauce from scratch? Everything is from scratch in this house!

Ryan and Aaron and our food. At this point, obviously my home alone no longer existed. But I was happy to have my family (or at least half of it) back in the casa avec moi

Mr. Hackman aslo bought me a sewing machine upon his return from a foreign.. apparently as a joke. The real joke is that I want to sew so bad, if he hadn't told me it was a joke, I'd be sewing myself to my couch right now.

Bakk 2 Basix

Had to take it back to the original meaning of Humble Beginnings with this one.. all this fashionista non-sense just makes it that much sweeter to get in a good days hard-work. Today, I show you a day in the life of a screen printer.. brought to you courtesy of Umbrella Shirts in the great city of Oakland.

ever wondered what 1500 brand new black t-shirts look like?
screens can break down after being printed on hundreds of times... the Greater Than AIDS screen here proved to be resilient. Umbrella Shirts prints TONS of these tees and helps get their message across!

Fresh Tees in the front, Printed Tees in the back. Taylor here with some behind-the-scenes fresh printed STEEZE!

Tedious grey-scale efforts to test any color theorists' eye!

Reuben here, godfather of Mwamvuli

R2D2 at his most productive.. This is an Automatic Press (for the folks who never saw Star Warz.)
Anyway there's a quicky tour for you folks.. I owe a lot to Umbrella Shirts.. What did they give me that was most valuable? Knowledge. No doubt.

Steeze Report- Project 10

"Better late than never."

Being late, though, sometimes, is probably just about as good as never.

Or at least this was the basic message behind a phone call stating that if the booth wasn't entirely set up by day zero, Holy Stitch might as well stay home. One on-the-spot-decision later from the man in charge, and we were pulling the "ejektor seat" latch on our scheduled flight and loading up half of mr. hackman's life into a u-haul, and shipping out to vegas first thing saturday. Angels guided us our entire trip. The angels of . . . fashion?

here's Billy, the Chinese God of precision and efficiency, loading the sewing machines

10 hours later we were filling the tank on this puppy one last time before vegas baby. unfortunatley, i kept leaving HB in the u-haul, so our entire road trip gets summed in  a gas station parking lot.

here's our booth set-up in all its' glory. Holy Stitch All Day:)

Kriss Nekk and Waylyn through down on a nice arrangement in the front of the booth.
Holy Stitch! just gained 20 HP points.

I tip my hat to the clever individual(s) who thought this set-up-up.

outer vegas or somethin. cutty japanese spot. that's right. our shoes are not on in this restaurant.

but i could still smell feet? ahhhh just joshin' ya. food was dopamine:)

Krisss. how lame would you feel in your dumb corvette if you rolled up next to this steezy kat at his typewriter? ARS Steeze.. Project 10

Loot from the show:)

The Brooklyn Circus hosted Project 10, & their booth was right next to Holy Stitch. This is some of their steezy gear. They have a store in SF, NY, and also distribute in Japan.

My man Bernard James. What can I say? This is straight sophisti-steeze.

Bernard James' beautiful jewelry and old war set-up. this young man is definitely making it happen.

i like the way Nchimunya from BKC dresses... a meticulously arranged still life of fabric. And she makes it looks easy too, huh.

Shoes Shoes Shoes. 3 points for the "sock game" on the left.

Denim heads unite! This is basically the same scientists that created the the steam engine, reincarnated as denim teknicians. They have a secret society deep within the indigo caves of Atlantis.
Oh yea! This photo is also special because it is a clear shot of a Waylyn in his natural habitat... you can just feel the Waylyn Zone here.. a suprime specimen really... just catching a real photographer in his truest environment this way--These are the moments Humble Beginnings strives to capture; and succeeds.

Awesome people laugh more. Some of them just so happen to also be very intelligent and well-dressed. Here is a prime example of what it feels like to have the future blowing in your face when you've got tricks under your beard.

Bernard James and Waylyn giving a class on class.

a few of BKC's display items that help set the tone of their brand, i suppose. or at least represent it enough to sit with their premium quality gear.

Shows over. what was the show called though? Project 10. workroom. some pictures tell a thousand words. really in this picture i only focused on two. But hey that's what HB is all about. One step at a time, no what I mean?

Assertive-Napping Steeze. haha. I think he's saying "Humble Beginnings! YOU $*@^# ROCK! or you might one day! ARGGHH YOU SURE DO SHOW ALOT OF POTENTIAL THOUGH!"

Who needs actual words when you can find one pseudo-word and just wok away with it?

U-Return right before the airport

Waylyn displays "Paparazzi Vagabond Steeze"

back to SF. the tribal look reminds me of my other home.

recharge time.  linguisa+eggplant+capers+feta cheese
variety is the spice of life, no? a little bit of everything..

hows that pyramid ring on Krisss'sss  ...  he scored it at a han cholo after-party good thymes.

what can i say? thanks to the universe for the opportunity to live these events, and the ability to record it, and friends to read it. HB, signing out. peace out, y'all!
